Common Questions

What types of training do you offer?

We provide Minnesota Office of EMS-approved training in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), First Aid, CPR, and continuing education courses. Our courses meet industry standards, including NREMT certification and NCCP recertification requirements.

  • EMR Course: Typically 40-60 hours, depending on format.
  • EMT Course: Usually 150-200 hours, including classroom and hands-on training.

An Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) provides basic lifesaving care and supports EMTs and paramedics. An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) has more advanced training, including patient transport, airway management, and emergency medical interventions.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

While there is no official minimum age requirement to take the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) Certification Exam, students enrolling in our Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses should be mature enough to handle the course’s physical and academic demands.

Our courses use a blended learning approach, combining online coursework with in-person classroom sessions. While some materials can be completed online, hands-on participation in classroom sessions is essential to learn and master the critical skills needed for emergency medical response. This in-person training ensures you gain the confidence and practical experience required to respond effectively in real-world emergencies.
